Virtue has always relied on our community for support, and now more than ever we need to care for one another. Last week, we launched the Virtue Salon Relief Fund to help hairstylists and salon workers in the Virtue® Community who have been impacted by the economic fallout from COVID-19. As we have said, our hairstylists are always there for us. Their chairs are a place where we know we will be taken care of. Now, with the mandatory shutdown of salons, this fund will help us take care of them. If you would like to join us in this effort, you can contribute here. No amount is too small, and we appreciate your generosity.

In addition to the Salon Relief Fund, we were inspired to do more, to help not only the Virtue family, but the broader community as well.

To continue to support our stylists, we’ve increased the commission for those in our Salon Affiliate program to 30% for the foreseeable future as another way to try and provide relief for those experiencing wage loss as their chairs remain empty.

This time of uncertainty is difficult for everyone, and even more so for those families who don’t know where their next meal will come from. We will be working with Save the Children, donating $5,000, to ensure that children in hard-hit communities continue to have access to the food they need.

Lastly, we want to support the incredible frontline health workers who are working tirelessly to care for us. We identified and donated significant amounts of PPE from our lab facility in Winston-Salem to the Wake Baptist Cancer Center, a local hospital here in North Carolina. This includes nearly 1,000 N95 masks, as well as gowns, lab coats, and gloves to keep to those on the frontlines safe. Our healthcare workers are true hometown heroes. You inspire us. Thank you.

These are some of the strides we are taking as a small company with a big heart. As we navigate through these unprecedented times, know that we are here for you and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of the Virtue family. Stay safe, stay healthy, and take care of one another.
