Q: When it comes to humidity and hair, is less more? Do you tend to do less product, less styling since the weather is so hot?

A: If it’s super hot out, and you are a girl who likes to wear hair blown out – you have to protect your hair from the humidity. To start make sure you use a great conditioner to set the foundation for a blow dry that will last and help keep hair smooth even in the most humid environments.

For styling, use moisture-rich products like Un-Frizz Cream and Split End Serum to seal the cuticle and block out moisture so hair doesn’t get frizzy. These are my secret weapon for creating a smooth voluminous blow-out, especially with the added summer humidity. The key is to keep hair super moisturized so that you repel frizz.

Q: For days when you just get out of the shower and you don’t want to use any heat tools, what should you do with your hair?

If you have curly hair, use a mixture of Leave-in Conditioner and lightweight hair stylers like the 6-in-1 Styler to define the curls. : The key to maintain great curls is to keep hydrated. It takes longer for natural oils to move from the scalp to the ends with curly hair which can cause frizz on the lower half, giving that mushroom effect.

For wavy hair, shower the night before. On damp, towel-dried hair, separate into either large or small sections (depending on your preferred wave size). Twist the section of hair and secure all together a top knot In the morning, separate and brush through with your fingertips using a lightweight styler like the 6-in-1 Styler or Moisture-Defining Whip for loose definition.
