2022 Academy Awards: Jennifer Garner's Modern Yet Iconic Waves

Inspiration

“My inspiration for Jen’s look came from her stunning red Brandon Maxwell dress, which felt classic around the draping of the fabric on the off-the-shoulders, but the simplicity of the silhouette felt modern. I wanted her to look classically beautiful and just gorgeous,” shares Jenny Cho.

How To

Prepping the hair and layering the right products is the key to a lasting, smooth style like this. On towel-dried hair, Cho applied Virtue Volumizing Primer all over the roots to the ends. She followed with a dime-size amount of Virtue Un-Frizz Cream on the mid shaft through the ends to smooth the hair.

Starting from the nape, Cho blow dried the hair with a large round brush, creating as much volume as possible. Once each section was dried, Cho applied velcro rollers to set each section with a clip, and followed by letting the hair cool down for 10–15 minutes before undoing the rollers.

Once the clips were removed, Cho teased each section at the roots so that the base was secured and had volume. She finished the look by molding and sculpting the waves into a wave pattern with a brush, then spraying hairspray to set it, and applied a cocktail of Virtue 6-in-1 Styling Paste and Healing Oil.
